How "Responsible Party" Remediation Works in NJ

  • Sites remediated in New Jersey are either done by the party responsible (any and all owners may be participants) or by the state (when the site is of high concern to public health and no responsible party can be identied). Publicly funded clean-ups follow a similar process.
